DANSVILLE – An emotional ceremony is planned for Tammy Jo Alexander, formerly ‘Jane Doe’ whose body was identified in January after 35 years of investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and thousands of astute civilians.
According to Michael Dougherty of Kevin Dougherty Funeral Home, the previous gravestone will be removed and properly engraved with Tammy Jo’s name.
The ceremony will be June 10 at 10 a.m. at Tammy Jo’s gravesite in Greenmount Cemetery in Dansville. The ceremony is open to the public.
Alexander, was found on November 10, 1979 in a Caledonia field where she had been brutally shot twice, at the age of 16.
