MOUNT MORRIS — Though Hurricane Sandy largely spared Livingston County and the Rochester area, it tore through Red Hook, Brooklyn, flooding building basements with water from the New York Harbor and leaving residents without power, heat or water. Foxy Lady is an 8-10 month old Shepherd mix who was abandoned on a dirt road. When she was first spotted, she closely resembled a fox. At first, Foxy was somewhat frightened to come near people, but once she was caught, Foxy found out that people were fun. Since Foxy is still a puppy, she needs further training. County responds to concerns over dog control facility
LIVINGSTON COUNTY — County Administrator Ian M. Coyle recently responded to concerns raised by local resident Melissa Nichols over how the Livingston County Dog Control Shelter Facility is run. County Health Department warns of pertussis outbreak
LIVINGSTON COUNTY — The Livingston County Department of Health released a news statement on its website stating that from January 1 to June 11, there have been 55 positive cases of pertussis, or whooping cough in the county. According to the health department, the outbreak affects individuals of all ages.
