York’s Second Grass Fire in 2 Days Strikes Horse Pasture
YORK – A wide open horse pasture was the site of the second grass fire in the Town of York this week. According to first reponders on scene, the fire started at about 5 p.m. in a low spot in the field on Genesee Street. Firefighters quickly put out the fire on the ground as high winds whipped up heavy smoke. The horses in the pasture calmly grazed about 300 yards from the fire. Genesee Valley Pony Club Shines in Competition
GENESEO —It was the Genesee Vally Version of the pony Olympics as the Pony Club hosted the Western New York Games rally. The annual event was almost cancelled due to the Avon Downs being flooded out, but thanks to the generosity of Kim Sanford at Leg up Stables, who hosted the compeition, the event delivered without a hitch.
