YORK – A Piffard homeowner got a surprise on Wednesday when a car suddenly wound up high and dry on his front lawn. The car apparently left the road and hit the mailbox of the house next door before safely coming to a stop in the lawn. The homeowner, Gary Blythe, said that the driver and his passenger narrowly missed a telephone pole and a tree once their car left the road.
