AVON – A large truck hit an Avon boy who ran into traffic to save a pet dog on South Avon Road on Saturday. According to Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, the 12-year-old suffered a serious leg injury and the dog was fatally injured. The boy was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital.
