LIVINGSTON COUNTY — A Caledonia man, charged last month with sex crimes against a minor, has pleaded guilty to a Third Degree Criminal Sex Act and now faces a lengthy prison term.
Matthew Symonds, 41, appeared in front of Judge Robert Wiggins where the defendant admitted that he engaged in sex acts with a minor on multiple occasions.
Symonds is expected to receive a 2 and a half year sentence in state prison, along with ten years of post-release supervision. Sentencing is scheduled to occur at a later date, where the victim is expected to make a formal statement.
The defendant remains in Livingston County Jail.
