SUV SPEEDS AWAY AFTER HITTING TWO POLICE OFFICERS

 

 A SUV rammed through a group of law enforcement officers at a George Floyd demonstration Monday night in Buffalo, injuring a Buffalo police officer and a New York State Police officer.

Both were taken to Erie County Medical Center with serious injuries. In addition, at least two other people have been shot according to police.

NY STATE POLICE QUOTE : “Demonstrators joining in nationwide protests against police brutality occupied Niagara Square late Saturday afternoon and staged a confrontation with armed U.S. marshals and Buffalo police in riot gear at the entrance to the federal courthouse before spreading to other neighborhoods late into the night.”

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz has since stated that both the driver and the passengers are identified and in custody.

The march in Buffalo, largely organized through Facebook, drew hundreds of people into Niagara Square. Other protests across the state included the city of Rochester where a curfew was enfrced oonly after protesters set a police car on fire.
