GENESEO — The Lady Knights of SUNY Geneseo played their second double overtime in two days on a brisk Saturday afternoon, ending in a 0-0 draw against Buffalo State.
It was a defensive struggle that allowed for few quality scoring chances.
“We played great defense, but our finishing and possession in the scoring area was just off today.” said coach Nate Wiley after the game.
Geneseo was unable to convert on their numerous crosses and free kicks into goals, while strong defensive play in the middle broke up countless Knight attacks.
Constant play from the back line of the Knights kept them in the game though, as they constantly swarmed the ball along with strong goal keeping from Julia Sanger to lead them to their second shutout.
“We will see what we are made of next weekend on the road” coach continued, referencing the teams upcoming road trip to Oneonta and New Paltz, both quality opponents.
The Lady Knights are now (0-6-2) two games into conference play, and hope to get that elusive first victory away next weekend.
