GENESEO – The Study Abroad Office at SUNY Geneseo hosts the campus’ most recent exhibit, the Study Abroad Photo Contest, showcasing students’ photos from their studies abroad.
Study abroad mentors Gabrielle Kinney and Sarah Simon worked with Assistant Director Sam Cardamone to organize the contest. According to Kinney, preparation consisted of collecting photo entires, distributing surveys, and accumulating responses.
A press release encourages visitors to “appreciate everyone’s photos and ask people about the stories behind the snapshots!”
According to the data, over 180 photos were collected, with over 700 votes cast, encompassing about 12% of the college population.
Participants were limited to one submission per category, again according to the press release. Categories welcomed photos running the gamut of people, places, and culture.
Photos with the most votes ranged in location from Tomefa, Ghana to Buenos Aires, Argentina. The upwards of 180 responses, however, beautify life in South Korea, New Zealand, and Mexico, to name a few.
These photos will be on display in the Bridge Gallery of Brodie Hall until Dec. 5.
