GENESEE VALLEY PARK — SUNY Geneseo’s Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams both took home second place finishes at the D3 Atlantic Regional race Saturday.
With this win, both the men’s and women’s teams punched their ticket to the NCAA D3 National meet, to be held in Mason Ohio. This is the teams 12th consecutive trip to the National meet.

The men’s team came second only to St. Lawrence, who scored 63 points in the race to Geneseo’s 115. Cohen Miles-Rath was the top finisher for the Knights, taking 12th place overall. He was followed by Alfredo Mazzuca, Brendan Wortner, Alex Burks, and Issac Garcia-Cassani finishing 20,21,30, and 32 respectively. Also racing for the Knights was Adam Murphy (38) and Travis Briggs (49).
The women’s race saw much of the same, as Geneseo finished second to St. Lawrence, but only by a single point. Senior Cassie Goodman was first across the line for the Knights with a great 4th place finish. She was followed closely by Ashton Hughes (6), Marissa Bellusci (9), Jackie Huben (15), and Kristen Homeyer (17). Alyssa Knott (19), and Joanna Castrogivanni (27) also turned in excellent performances for the Knights.
The final race of the season for the Knights will take place Saturday, November 22 at the Gold Center at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio. The races will begin at 11 a.m.
