WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – The SUNY Geneseo Cross Country teams competed at the Purple Valley Classic against some big competition.
The Knights prevailed despite stiff competition and difficult conditions.
“The course was a tough one, coupled with the 84 degree heat, was a true test of endurance and fitness” said Head Coach Dan Moore. “There is still a lot of work to do, and plenty of room for improvement.”
The Men’s team trumped the competition, winning the meet with 87 points. Senior Issac Garcia-Cassani won the Men’s 8k race. He was followed Alex Burks (5th), Connor Pulvidente (8th), Colin Kern (35th), and Justin Hoelzl (38).
The Women’s team took third place at the meet, led by Junior Elise Ramirez, who took 6th place. She was followed by Kristen Homeyer(19th), Genny Corcoran(31st), Allie Fernandez(35th), and Annibel Coolican (40th).

The Knights will race again next weekend at Letchworth State Park, as they host the Mike Woods Cross Country Invitational. The races will begin at 11 a.m.
