GENESEO – SUNY Geneseo is using a special ticket sale location in anticipation of a huge outpouring of attendees to the women’s basketball game on Tuesday and the men’s ice hockey game on Saturday.
These will be the first games played by the basketball and hockey teams since the passing of basketball player Kelsey Annese, 21, of Webster and hockey player Matthew Hutchinson, 24 of Vancouver, British Columbia, in the tragedy at 18 Wadsworth on Jan. 17.
“Due to anticipated large attendances, tickets for Saturday’s home men’s ice hockey game and both of Tuesday’s home basketball games will be made available at the MacVittie Student Union Ticket Office,” posted SUNY Geneseo to Facebook. “Pending availability leading up to the games, tickets will not be available at the door and no one will be admitted without a ticket or Roundtable Athletic Association badge.”
All of these games will be against Cortland.
Tickets will be available at the box office located on the first floor of MacVittie Student Union on Thursday to Friday for ice hockey and Monday to Tuesday for basketball from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Tickets are $5 for adults ages 18 and up and $3 for non-Geneseo students and senior citizens. Geneseo students and children ages 12 and under will be admitted for free, but will still need to have a ticket to get into the game. RAA badges will be honored at the door both nights.
Tickets can only be picked up at the ticket office window. Sales are cash only. No online or credit card sales are available.
Doors for Saturday’s hockey game will open at 5:30 p.m. in advance of the 7:00 p.m. faceoff.
Doors for Tuesday’s women’s basketball game at 5:30 p.m. and men’s game at 7:30 p.m. will both open at 4:30 p.m. Only one ticket is required to attend both basketball games.
