SUNY Geneseo Track And Field Secure More National Spots

BOSTON, MA – The SUNY Geneseo Indoor Track and Field team took one last trip to Tufts University this weekend to chase National qualifying times.

The team accomplished their mission, with multiple athletes securing a spot for the trip to the NCAA National Meet next weekend.

“They ran really great today!” said Assistant Coach Dan Moore. When asked which athletes secured a last chance spot on the trip to Nationals next weekend, Moore told us that Marissa Cassaro (3000 Meters), Alex Kramer (5000 Meters), and the Women’s Distance Medley Relay team all booked a ticket.

The Men started off strong, taking the win in the Distance Medley Relay. The Women took 4th in their heat of the Distance Medley Relay.

The Men also had a strong showing in the 5000 meter race, where Alex Kramer, and Alfredo Mazzuca took 1st, and 2nd respectively.

The Lady Knights showed their depth as well, with Marissa Cossaro, Sara Rosenzweig, and Dana Cebulski taking 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in the Women’s 3000 meter run respectively.

The Knights will next head to North Central College in Naperville, Illinois for the NCAA Division III Championships. The meet will take place on Friday, March 10, and Saturday, March 11.
