CORTLAND – The SUNY Geneseo Track and Field team competed at SUNYACS this weekend, taking place at SUNY Cortland. The team competed very well, with the Women winning the title, and the Men taking second.
The meet started off on Friday with a bang. Alexa Wandy and Camille Wutz took first, and third in the Women’s Long Jump respectively. Wandy came back on Saturday to win the Women’s Triple jump.
“Both teams performed extremely well, and had so many outstanding performances,” said Assistant Coach Dan Moore. “The coaching staff is so incredibly proud of the team’s accomplishments.”
The Knights also had stellar showings in both of the 10,000 meter races, coming home with wins on each side. For the Women, Kelly Flanagan won by over 15 seconds, running a time of 38:00.88. For the Men, Jackson Tate took the win, with fellow Knight Sam Heraghty coming in third.
Saturday brought more wins for the Knights, as Sara Rosenzweig won the Women’s 3000 meter Steeplechase. Erin MacDougall and Shayna Held took first and third respectively in the women’s 100 meter hurdles.
The Women also took the top three spots of the Women’s 5000 meter run, with Eilise Ramirez, Marissa Cossaro, and Sara Rosenzweig securing big points for the Knights.
The Women also won the 4×400 Meter relay.
Issac Garcia-Cassani won the Men’s 1500 meter run, and took second in the men’s 5000 Meter run, with team mate Alex Kramer winning the event.

The teams will compete at Swathmore’s Last Chance Meet to secure National spots. That meet will happen Monday, May 15th.
