GENESEO — SUNY Geneseo hosts solo art exhibit paying tribute to victims of police violence.
From Nov. 7 until Dec. 8, SUNY Geneseo’s Bertha V. B. Lederer Gallery will be home to Larry Winston Collins’ exhibit They That Matter.
“This exhibit is a tribute to nineteen young men felled by police violence,” Gallery Director Cynthia Hawkins stated. “These shrine-like portraits were produced with the call to all of us to recognize ‘the humanity of the victims and that their lives mattered.'”
In addition to the art itself, there will be a video recording of Collins talking about this specific exhibit, as well as his multi-media art in general.
The exhibit will be open to the public, free of charge, kicking off with an opening ceremony Nov. 7, 5pm-7pm.
