According to Geneseo Police Chief Eric Osganian, the student, a male, aged 20, was conscious and alert when first responders transported him from an address on Wadsworth Street.
“He said that he took cocaine, Xanax and alcohol,” said Osganian. “I can’t stress enough the danger of mixing substances like this. Everyone needs to remember the young people we’ve lost to drug mixtures like this, some as recently as a few years ago.”
The student is a resident of Monroe Hall on campus. He is believed to have walked up to the door of the Wadsworth Street address, where a friend of his lives. A resident at the house is believed to have called 911 when they saw how intoxicated he was.
The Geneseo Police Department is investigating where the student obtained the drugs. All three substances are illegal for him to possess as he has no prescription for Xanax and is under age 21.
The student is released from the hospital.
