GENESEO – SUNY Geneseo senior forward Shannon McGinnis and first-year diver Sam Randall were recognized with weekly honors by the SUNY Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) on Monday, Jan. 26.
Randall was named Male Diver of the Week and McGinnis was named Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
McGinnis played a key role in lifting the Knights to three wins last week against Cortland, Plattsburgh and Potsdam. McGinnis scored 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds against Cortland on January 20, helping the Knights bounce back from a 19-point deficit to take the win in overtime 68-64. On Friday, January 23, McGinnis logged her ninth double-double of the season with 13 points and 12 rebounds against Plattsburgh. McGinnis is now in second place on Geneseo’s all-time top rebounding list, just 26 short of claiming first.
Randall has now earned weekly SUNYAC honors five times this season.
