SUNY Geneseo Points to ‘Painting Rock’ as Work Blocks ‘Greek Tree’

GENESEO – SUNY Geneseo has designated a rock on campus as an alternative canvas for student organizations to spraypaint while the ‘greek tree’ is blocked by extensive steam and water project.

Repair work to the steam ducts that heat several academic buildings that surround the campus’ central courtyard, ‘the quad,’ has blocked in the quad with construction fences.

“The rock is an alternative that greeks and others are using in their expressions of sport,” said David Irwin.

Work and blockage is expected to carry through to Aug. 17, 2018.

“It’s going to be nice when they finally get it complete,” said Irwin. “But until then, the work is unfortunately going to interrupt the walkways.”
