ITHACA – The SUNY Geneseo Knights Track & Field teams competed at the Sunday Invitational hosted by Cornell University on Sunday, February 15.
For the women, SUNY Geneseo senior Leigha Tilton posted a personal record in both the 60-meter and 200-meter dash to lead the Knights. Tilton finished the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.16 and completed the 200-meter dash in 26.96 for eighth place.
Sophomore Allison Drozda, first-year Megan Farrell, sophomore Ashlyne Sullivan and sophomore Samantha Bishop took second place in the 4×400 meter relay (4:37.52).
Sophomore Winny Chen came in seventh in the mile (5:22.95) followed by sophomore Marissa Cossaro (5:33.65) and junior Shannon Murphy (5:33.65). For the men’s mile, Sophomore Adam Murphy had a fifth-place finish (4:29.51) followed by junior Joe Chapman in sixth (4:33.43).
Sophomore Mackenzie Ross had a seventh-place finish in the 800-meter run (2:24.94) while sophomore Pooja Patel came in 11th in the 400-meter dash (1:04.12) and junior Sarah Anstett finished 10th in the 3000-meter run (10:55.13).
First-year Camille Wutz came in seventh in the long jump (5.20m) and had a triple jump of 10.61m. In the high jump, sophomore Joanna Heath placed third (1.55m) while senior Elyssa Slawinski came in sixth place (11.55m) in the shot put.
On the men’s side, senior Phil Longo came in fifth in the long jump (6.63m) while first-year Zerrick Barlow placed fourth in the weight throw (12.55m) and first-year Peter Clark-Deutsch had a triple jump of 13.21m to lead the Knights.
First-year Jasper Humphries took 13th in the 400-meter dash (53.98) as first-years Seth Burton (54.72) and Dylan Switzer (55.40) came in 14th and 15th, respectively.
Junior Mike Custance came in ninth in the 3000-meter run (9:13.18) followed by senior Matthew Byrnes in 10th (9:16.07) and sophomore Alfredo Mazzuca in 11th (9:16.62).
The Knights are scheduled to compete at the Golden Eagle Invite hosted by Brockport next Saturday (Feb. 21). Events are set to begin at 11 a.m.
