GENESEO – The Ugandan Water Project from Bloomfield, NY will be hosting an interactive fundraising event called “Water: Now” at SUNY Geneseo’s College Union on Tuesday, April 7, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Ugandan Water Project is a non-profit humanitarian organization working to provide clean, safe, accessible drinking water and other catalyst resources to communities in Uganda.
“Our goal is to implement relational solutions that help Ugandans pull themselves out of poverty in a sustainable way,” says the Project, “so they can live the lives they were created for.”
The “Water: Now” event is intended to generate $3600, enough for one full rainwater collection tank. The tank will go to a Ugandan school building, and will be capable of serving an entire community for 30 years.
The Ugandan Water Project’s rainwater collection systems comprise of a 10,000 Liter polyvinyl tank that is placed on the cement base with a gutter system that is attached to an existing metal roof.
The Ugandan Water Project says that these systems will last around 30 years, providing clean water for thousands.
The Ugandan Water project encourages anyone interested to email firstname.lastname@example.org.
