POTSDAM – The SUNY Geneseo Cross Country teams dominated the SUNYAC meet this weekend held at SUNY Potsdam.
The teams showed their grit over the brutal course, striding away with first place finishes for both the Men, and the Women.
“The teams performed exceptionally well,” said Head Coach Dan Moore. “The strategy was to go out slow, and move up the race throughout. Both teams had a dominating performance with three in the top five for the men, and 1-4 for the women. I am incredibly proud of their efforts.”
The Men’s team took the victory, scoring a total of 29 points. The Knights were led by Issac Garcia-Cassani, who won the Men’s race. He was followed by Connor Pulvidente (3rd), Alex Burks (5th), Sean McAneny (9th), and Jackson Tate (11th).
The Women’s team decimated the rest of the field, with an impressive 17 point win. Elise Ramirez won the Women’s race for the Knights. She was followed closely by Kristen Homeyer, Allie Fernandz, Dana Cebulski, and Carissa Ditullio, who finished second, third, fourth, and seventh respectively.
