CHICAGO — SUNY Geneseo had a second great appearance today in Chicago, as alumni Melissa Johnson-White took 9th place among women finishers, with a time of 2:34:19.
This time secured White the “A” standard for the Olympic Marathon Trials, being held in February 2016. The Trials will be held in Los Angeles to determine who will represent the USA in the 2016 games.
The race was won by Rita Jeptoo of Kenya, in a time of 2:24:35
White runs for the Hanson’s Brooks Running team, located in Rochester MI.
A seven time All American at SUNY Geneseo, White holds the honor of a two time SUNYAC Cross Country Champion, along with being a member of the SUNYAC Cross Country Hall of Fame. During her time at Geneseo, White was coached none other than Mike “Woodsie” Woods.
