GENESEO – SUNY Geneseo is alerting the off-campus student community to a sexual assault investigation as rumors run rampant.
SUNY Geneseo Polic Chief Thomas Kilcullen sent the following email to the college community Monday evening:
“A Geneseo student has reported to the College that she was the victim of a sexual assault either Saturday night (Oct. 1) or early Sunday morning (Oct. 2). The student reported joining a group of friends between approximately 11 p.m. Saturday and 1 a.m. Sunday and going to an off-campus social gathering, where the alleged incident is believed to have taken place.
‘No suspect has been identified. If you have any further information regarding this incident, please contact the University Police Department at 585-245-5222 or make a report on the University Police Silent Witness Form.
‘You also may contact the Geneseo Police Department at 585-243-2420.If you have been sexually assaulted, or know someone who has been the victim of sexual assault, there are resources available to help you.

Multiple students wishing to remain anonymous have come forward to the GeneseeSun.com since Sept. 30 saying that a female student was sexually assaulted in the area of Court Street and Orchard Street or Meadow Drive and that she reported the incident to SUNY Geneseo.
At least one sorority president sent out an advisory message to her members on or before Sept. 30 warning them that this incident had occurred.
The GeneseeSun.com reached out to SUNY Geneseo Monday afternoon, Oct. 3, for confirmation of this report. Kilcullen emailed the college at 8:07 p.m. on Monday.
