SUNY Brockport Student Drowns in Erie Canal

BROCKPORT — Police have confirmed that a body found in the Erie Canal early Sunday morning was a SUNY Brockport student.According to our news partner 13WHAM the student, 23, was recovered at approximately 8 a.m. near the college campus.Family members of the victim has asked that his name not be released. First responders were on the scene for several hours Sunday morning.  Police have not confirmed if alcohol was a factor in the incident. An email went out to Brockport students alerting them to the incident.
