LIVINGSTON COUNTY – Livingston County villages and towns are going blue to get as many residents as possible to be screened for colorectal cancer.
Jennifer Rodriguez, Public Health Director for the Livingston County Department of Health, says that colorectal cancer is one of the most diagnosed but also one of the most preventable cancers.
Amy Pollard, CEO of Noyes Health, said that colonoscopies save lives and are painless procedures that patients rarely remember. Health care providers are instantly able to say whether the colonoscopy showed any signs of cancer.
NYS Assemblyman Joe Errigo attended Friday’s Go Blue kickoff at Dansville Public Library to support the Health Department and Noyes Health’s initiative in getting local residents to be screened.
