GENESEO – A dump truck tipped over on Groveland Road Tuesday morning.
State Police declined to speak on camera but NYSP Captain Kevin Reilly said that the truck was southbound when it ran off the right shoulder of Groveland Road, swerved back across the road and tipped over on the left shoulder at about 8:50 a.m.
The extent of the driver’s injuries are unknown. Reilly said that the driver was transported in an ambulance. A medical helicopter landed a short distance away but did not transport the driver.
The shale fill the truck was carrying spilled extensively. The Geneseo Fire Department monitored the truck for fuel leaks and members of the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation were at the scene.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office assisted State Police.
Groveland Road is expected to be closed for some time at Long Point Road and Jones Bridge Road as the cleanup is underway.
