GENESEO – Anonymous donors completely funded an extensive renovation of the nearly 50-year-old pipe organ at St. Michael’s Church.
Breaking into the two-story, 2,000-pipe instrument revealed what Organist and Choirmaster Fr. Mitch Bush called ‘pages and pages’ of problems that had been altering the organ’s sound for years.
The task then fell to organ technician Tim Smith to repair and restore the organ’s every inch.
After months of labor, the organ is to play at the celebration of the church building’s 150th anniversary on Sunday.
