Dear Valued Customers and Friends,
As we navigate together through covid-19, I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your continued patronage and support of our restaurant. As most of you already know, Fratelli’s in Italian means, brothers and my brothers Antonio, Roberto and I have owned and operated Fratelli’s for the last 24 years. Your continued support of our restaurant during these most difficult times has sustained us and keeps our life long dream alive. During the early days of Covid-19, when we were operating as a “TO GO” only restaurant, as per state mandate, your continued patronage made it possible for us to keep our lights on and pay our bills. Many restaurants were not so fortunate. We are forever grateful to all of you that were so faithful to us during that phase. Now that we are in the 50% capacity phase of covid-19, we are now faced with a whole new set of challenges. The restrictions on our capacity along with the 6 feet social distancing restrictions, prohibits us from taking reservations and has caused some delays in serving all of you in a timely manner. Not only do these restrictions force us to keep patrons 6ft apart, they also prevent us from having a full staff on, which further hinders our ability to serve you properly. The greatest challenge however, has been the interruption to the food supply chain, which is occurring everywhere. Many standard products that we use everyday are no longer available or are in limited supply. It is extremely frustrating for us to run out of something, impacting our ability to provide high quality food and service to you. The supply chain being as it is, has caused a spike in cost, almost three times as much, for some of our products. The last thing we ever want to do is raise our prices but for certain items, it was necessary to avoid losing money or worse, the alternative, would have been removing them from our menu. As most of you already know, many restaurants and other business are now able to charge a 3% credit card processing fee on all credit card transactions. This is the amount most credit card companies charge merchants for the convenience of processing a credit card for your purchase. This 3% is always subject to what kind of card you have. Most reward or point earning cards charge a much higher percentage to be able to provide you with those rewards. It is now legal in NYS to pass this charge along to our customers. Given that we are, at best, breaking even during this crisis and our costs continue to climb, we are no longer able to absorb this expense. We could have raised our prices yet again, to cover this expense, but we chose to be upfront about it and have it clearly posted on your bill and throughout the building. As we continue to meet all CDC guidelines, with rigorous in-house sanitation to social distancing, I wanted to make sure all of you know, we are doing our best to keep offering the same great food and service that you come to expect from us. What has not changed, nor will ever change, is our deep appreciation of all your support and encouragement we have received from so many of you. We will continue to do everything possible to assure a pleasurable and delicious dining experience with us, each and every time you visit. If something is not right, please let us know, right away, so we can correct it to have you leave us completely satisfied. We are so fortunate to have our restaurant in Avon, NY and the finger lakes region. The people of this region are incredible and we are forever grateful for the opportunity to serve you.
