Local Puerto Rico Relief Effort: County-Wide Collection Day
Geneseo, NY…. Livingston County will be setting up a collection location in order to assist in the relief and recovery effort for Puerto Rico that has been established by Governor Cuomo. This County effort will bring together a wide range of civic, business and industry partners to provide needed goods to help the people of Puerto Rico and it will provide opportunities for Livingston County residents to contribute to the relief efforts.
When: Monday, October 16th from 6:00 am – 5:00 pm
Where: Livingston County Highway Department, 4389 Gypsy Lane, Mt. Morris, NY 14510
What: We can only accept the following items:
Batteries, flashlights, portable lanterns, diapers, baby wipes, cases of water, feminine hygiene products. (All donations must be completely unopened and packaged)
The all-day collection effort will be staffed by the Livingston County Department of Health’s Emergency Preparedness Coordinator and the Medical Reserve Corps members. These volunteers will be helping people unload their donations, which will then be loaded into a trailer that was graciously donated by Johncox trucking.
The Livingston County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a group of volunteers from various backgrounds that serve and support the Livingston County community during public health emergencies and at other times of community need. The overall objective of the MRC program is to strengthen our community's preparedness for a public health emergency by maintaining a system for volunteers to offer their expertise and skills throughout the year.
