LIVINGSTON COUNTY — On Wednesday the United Way of Livingston and Wyoming Counties delivered amazing Steel Harmony Sculptures to local businesses that will be auctioned off in a benefit.
Government offices and local businesses are teaming up with United Way and displaying the spectacular pieces of art in their windows to maximize their exposure before the auction which will take place on May 31st at the National War Plane Museum in Geneseo.
“This is one of the coolest projects I’ve ever worked on,” said Karen Rumfola from United Way of Livingston County. “The kids brought their excitement and creativity into the project and working with them has been an unbelievable experience.”
There are 43 pieces that will be auctioned off including a tiger, eagle, alligator and pole cat. They were designed and built by students in the metal trades class tought by Olie Olsen and his assistant Rory Benkleman at the Genesee Valley Educational Partnership.
Admission to the auction is $5 and tickets are available at the Touch of Grayce, Not Dot Shop, Nothnagle Realtors and Image Empire Salon. Last year’s auction raised over $35,000 for Theresa House.
