AVON – St. Agnes students have been busy over the past week, giving out bird feeders, reading with their ‘big and little sisters’ and even having a roller skating party.
A press release from St. Agnes School announced that Catholic Schools Week was Jan. 28 to Feb. 2, with community service and family events throughout.
On Jan. 29, students started the day with a prayer service and then the ‘big’ students joined the ‘little’ students in creating heart-shaped bird feeders to give to Avon Nursing Home.
On Jan. 30, students dressed in their pajamas and the ‘Big and Little Brothers/Sisters’ students spent time reading together.
On Jan. 31, grades 3 to 6 traveled up to the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Rochester for a Catholic Schools Mass with Bishop Salvatore Matano.
On Feb. 1, students had a Rollerskating Party during the school day. In the evening, families came together for a Pot Luck Dinner followed by a Talent Show which involved students as well as parents and teachers.
Friday, Feb. 2 concluded the week with a Family Fun Day, where families chose between bowling at Miller Lanes in Honeoye Falls or going skiing at Swain Ski Resort.
Catholic Schools Week kicks off Open Registration for children entering Preschool as well as Kindergarten through Grade 6 for the 2018-2019 school year.
