“St. Agnes School strives to teach the students how to give back to the community on a local and international level throughout the year,” said St. Agnes School in a press release. “Great job students!”
Students sang ‘God Bless the USA’ to over 40 Veterans and guests at their breakfast. Parent and professional singer Krista Benson also treated veterans to her rendition of’God Bless America.’ Fifth grade students helped serve and bus tables as the Veterans dined on egg and french toast casseroles and fresh fruits, breads, muffins and donuts.
St. Agnes students then donated over 90 pounds of candy from their trick-or-treating bags to be sent to soldiers overseas through ‘Mama Cindy’s Soldier Fund’ in Hemlock. The students collected candy to give to Mama Cindy (Strasburg) in Hemlock to help her fill the care packages that she sends overseas to our troops through Mama Cindy’s Soldier Fund. The students also brought in over 150 food items to be donated to the Avon food pantry to help them fill baskets for Thanksgiving for local families in need.
