SPRINGWATER— A Springwater woman was arrested following an investigation into welfare fraud.
According to a press release from Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, on May 30, Donetta M. Struthers was arrested for felony Welfare Fraud in the 4th Degree, felony Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree and Misuse of Food Stamps.
Through the investigation conducted by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, Livingston County Department of Social Services and the District Attorney’s Office, it is alleged that Struthers applied for and was receiving benefits from the Department of Social Services as well as failed to disclose household income resulting in her receiving over $1,500 in benefits.
Struthers was turned in to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail where she was later arraigned in the Town of Mt. Morris Court before Judge Provo.
Provo later releases Struthers on her own recognizance.
Investigator Dan Rittenhouse was the person who arrested Struthers.
