The Red Raiders advance to the sectional finals winning 17-16.
“That was one of the ugliest exciting softball games I’ve ever been a part of,” said Caledonia-Mumford’s Head Coach Dan Dickens. “Our girls kept their heads up and battled back despite not playing well in the field, it didn’t effect their hitting. The girls are very excited to get a rematch with Bishop Kearney on Friday.”
This game had a total of 33 runs. This was an offense-oriented game for both teams.
The Red Raiders were lead by Meghan Mietlicki who finished 3 for 4 with 4 RBI’s (Runs Batted In). Grace Walker and Andrea Coyle both added 2 hits and 3 RBI’s. While Sami Bickford hit a 3 run home run in the 5th inning.
Anna and Lean O’Geen both added 3 hits for the Tiger’s offense. Sammi Kilner went 2 for 4 with 4 runs scored. Mackenzie Post had 2 hits while Savannah Till plated 2 hits and 2 RBI’s.
Caledonia-Mumford takes on number 2 seed Bishop Kearney Friday (5/26) at Genesee Community College at 5:30 p.m.
