‘Geneseo’ has a tracking device that makes his movements and travel patterns traceable to the public but also to researchers with ‘Project Snowstorm,’ a research initiative that began in 2013 when an irruption, or mass influx of snowy owls, came into the area from the Arctic Circle.
According to Project Snowstorm, in the past few weeks ‘Geneseo’ has left Livingston County and headed West, South of Buffalo, then skirted along the Northern shore of Lake Erie to Canada.
He is now near Chatham Kent, Ontario, about 60 miles from Detroit.
