LIVONIA — A man has been charged with filing a false report after trying to outsmart insurance and police investigators.
According to a press release from Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, Michael Mallory, 42, was charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident, 3rd degree, where he is alleged to have falsely reported his vehicle as stolen.
Mallory was charged after an investigation by Deputy Paul Ricotta who alleges that Mallory had actually been the operator of the vehicle which was earlier involved in a property damage accident and that he then fled on foot.
