GENESEO — The legal community in Livingston County just absorbed a shift with the recent partnering of Jones & Skivington and Faraci Lange LLP to form The Law Offices of Peter Skivington PLLC.
The law firm of Jones & Skivington began their practices over 23 years ago when Peter Skivington and J. Michael Jones, who passed away in 2011, teamed up in 1990. Previously Skivingston worked as an A.D.A. in the 80’s under then District Attorney Ted Wiggins and as a lawyer in Rochester.
“The tradition of legal practice established by J. Michael Jones is continued,” said Peter Skivington. “Mike would be proud that the firm continues and that competent independent legal work is to be performed at 31 Main Street.”
The new venture will have its main office in Geneseo and satellite offices in Livonia and Scottsville. Peter Skivington will be the partner in the joint venture with the firm of Faraci Lange. Skivington and associate attorney Daniel R. Magill will be joined by Faraci Lange’s 15 attorneys providing services in the areas of personal injury, vehicle and traffic, criminal and commercial cases, and estate matters.
“Faraci Lange is delighted to enter into this partnership with Peter Skivington, one of the most respected lawyers in Livingston County,” said Stephen Schwarz, managing partner, Faraci Lange LLP. “We believe that together our new team will be better
able to serve existing and future clients of both firms through the Southern Tier and Western New York.
According to Skivington the partnership will provide him with additional resources that will open up the opportunity for more litigation work.
