GENESEO — The Livonia and Geneseo High School ski teams raced a double-header this weekend to close out the regular season of racing.

The Livonia boys’ team was led by Trevor Simpson and Caleb Dulaney, finishing in 3rd and 8th place, respectively.
On the girls’ side, Cara Monteleone and Bailey Simpson led Livonia with 3rd and 11th place finishes.
“It was a great day of racing for everyone,” said Coach Renée Sylor of Livonia’s performance.
For the Geneseo team, Emily Podhorecki won both giant slalom races, and Russell Brownell finished in 2nd place in what Coach Mike Podhorecki called “an extremely close race for first.”
Other notable races were had by Livonia’s Jack Marshall and Trevor FitzSimmons with 15th and 38th place finishes, as well as Morgan Blake, Maddy DelGrand, and Lexi Mills with 22nd, 24th, and 26th place finishes.
For the season as a whole, Livonia’s Monteleone and Adam DelGrand earned Top 10 honors, with a 3rd place award for Monteleone in Varsity and a 6th place award for DelGrand in Modified.
Podhorecki of the Geneseo ski team was named League Champion, which automatically qualifies her for the State Championship.
The Livonia and Geneseo teams will prepare to compete at the Sectional Championship Feb. 14 and 15 at Bristol Mountain.
