For the second time in his life Deputy Chief Mark Simmons will again serve as the interim chief of the Rochester Police Department. This time he is scheduled to serve in that position for 30 days.
The Genesee Sun received this announcement via e-mail from Patrick Flanigan of the City of Rochester last night. Simmons first served in an interim capacity for parts of 2018 and 2019 until Singletary took over. As already report, Singletary resigned last week and was then fired by Mayor Warren yesterday.
