According to a press release from Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, the alcohol compliance detail on Nov. 14 used volunteers between ages 18 and 20 who would try to buy alcohol at convenience stores.
The volunteers receive specialized training from the Sheriff’s Office and are closely monitored by plain clothed Deputies and video surveillance.
A total of 13 stores throughout Livingston County were checked on Nov. 14 and all 13 were in compliance, meaning that they did not sell alcohol to the underage agents.
Those stores will receive a letter from the Sheriff’s Office explaining the detail and thanking them for their compliance.
The detail was conducted by Deputy Phyllis Applin, Deputy Michael Didas, and Deputy Michael Williams.
