LIMA – The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office identified the driver in Saturday’s fatal accident on Clay Street.
According to a press release from Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, on Dec. 16 at 10:36 pm, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, Emergency Communications Center, received a call regarding a motor vehicle crash on Clay Street in the Town of Lima.
The caller reported there was one car involved and that one person was inside the vehicle and injured.
Deputies arrived on scene alongside Fire and EMS. The driver of the car, Brandon Curtis, 23, of Hemlock, was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital. He later passed away from his injuries.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Curtis was traveling southbound on Clay Street, crossed the northbound lane, and left the road on the east side, striking a utility pole.
Multiple utility poles were damaged in the accident.
The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the Sheriff’s Office.
Several members from the Sheriff’s Office, along with emergency personnel responded to the scene, including the Lima Fire Department along with Honeoye Falls Ambulance and Advanced Life Support.
