LIVINGSTON COUNTY – Seven Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputies graduated in December from basic peace officer school based in Wayne County, and are now assigned to work at the County Jail.

According to a press release from Sheriff Dougherty, Deputy Kurt Uhl, Deputy Chad Eaton, Deputy Brittany Denby, Deputy Cody Thomas, Deputy Anastassia Vasile, Deputy Jason Hamilton, and Deputy Ryan Rossborough were recognized in a graduation ceremony at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday December 13, 2014.
According to the Livingston County website, all certified corrections officers in New York State are also qualified to hold the position of peace officer.
The school was hosted by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and Deputies had been enrolled since early September. The school consists of over 250 hours of instruction in topics such as Defensive Tactics, Security and Supervision, Firearms, Penal and Criminal Procedure Law and Report Writing.
