LIVINGSTON COUNTY — Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty has announced a new foundation that will support Sheriff projects.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Foundation (LCSF) will be an organization with a goal of supporting the activities and needs of the community associated with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
“The Foundation will work to identify and assess needs of the Livingston County law enforcement community which otherwise can’t be met with current budget constraints. This might include special equipment, training and services,” said Director of the new foundation Kevin Van Allen. “Ultimately, we believe that it will give citizens an opportunity to contribute towards enhancing the delivery of their public safety services.”
The LCSF is managed by a 7 person Board of Directors in which 5 are Livingston County citizens. The other 2 are the Sheriff and Undersheriff.
During the announcement ceremony, there was also a donation from the family of the late Sheriff Welch of $17,500 to the foundation.
