GENESEO — A Livonia sex offender has been arrested on felony charges for Failure to Register and to Verify, following an alleged change in address that went unreported to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a press release from Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, Jason Savoy, 32, allegedly changed addresses and failed to report his change in address to the Division of Criminal Justice. The New York State Corrections Law stipulates that registered sex offenders must report their change in address within ten days of the change. It is alleged that Savoy changed addresses on June 1st of 2014, and did not file his change in address in time.
Investigator Dan Rittenhouse arrested Savoy who was arraigned in Geneseo Town Court and remanded to the custody of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department on a bail of $10,000 cash, $20,000 bond. Savoy was remanded to the Livingston County Jail.
