LIVINGSTON COUNTY – A convicted sex offender has been charged with several charges including menacing, assault, and strangulation, as well as failure to register a change in his address earlier this month.
According to court records, Rodney White, 52, was involved in an incident in June 2014 that led to one charge of strangulation, one charge of obstructing a person’s breathing, three counts of assault, and three counts of menacing. In a separate case, he is charged with failure to register a change of address under the Sex Offenders Registration Act (SORA).
According to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, White had sexual contact with a 16-year-old victim in January of 2007.
According to the NYS Department of Corrections, White served five years for Robbery from 1991 to 1995 in Orleans State Prison.
In court on Tuesday, County Judge Robert Wiggins put in place a complete stay-away order of protection for the three victims, forbidding White from contacting them in any way.
Judge Wiggins set White’s bail at $2,500 cash, $5,000 bond.
