LIVINGSTON COUNTY – The Trump for President campaign announced its New York State leadership team this week, and several Livingston County officials joined them in forming a county committee to support the Trump campaign.
According to a press release from NYS Assemblyman Bill Nojay, Congressman Chris Collins and Assemblyman Bill Nojay were named as statewide Co-Chairs for the Trump campaign. Joining them locally, Debbie Davis, the Mayor of Caledonia, Terry Lowell, a longtime Republican activist and Nunda official, Gary Moore, a longtime Republican town and county official from Leicester, Becky Schroeder, a Caledonia Republican Committee member, and Les Cole, a businessman from Livonia, are heading up the Trump campaign in the region.
“We’ve got a great team in Livingston County, one of the strongest of any county in the State,” said Assemblyman Bill Nojay. “Les Cole was part of the team that met with Mr. Trump in 2014 to encourage him to run for Governor. Terry Lowell in the southern part of the county, well-known community leader Gary Moore, plus Becky Schroeder and Debbie Davis in the northern section, ensure we’ll have county-wide coverage for the April 19 Primary, going into the Convention in July and the General election in November.”
Phil Saunders is a partner in the company that owns the hangar at the Rochester airport where Trump is holding a rally on Sunday, April 10.
Nojay said he approached Saunders after Trump called him on Thursday, March 31 and said he’d like to come to the Rochester area as his first campaign stop in Upstate New York.
“I knew we’d need a large facility, indoors in light of the weather, near the airport, so I called Phil and asked if we could use his hangar,” said Nojay. He immediately said yes and the next thing we were talking with the Advance team and Secret Service about the details for the event.”
