CONESUS — A Livingston County youth was struck by a car while riding his bicycle Tuesday and suffered a serious but non-life-threatening head injury. The boy was not wearing his helmet.
Tyler Valentine-Fleck, 12, of Conesus apparently swerved into traffic and was struck by James Brewer, 71, of Avon. Brewer was not injured in the accident
The accident occurred around noon on Tuesday. The driver was not charged with any offenses and investigators are calling the incident an accident.
The boy was within miles of his home where the accident occurred. He was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital. Official have now stated he is expected to make a complete recovery from the injuries.
According to Livingston County Sheriff Deputy Joseph Breu, the car was southbound on state Rte 15 behind a group of three bicyclists when Valentine-Fleck turned his bike across the path of the vehicle. Brewer attempted to avoid the bike and rider in the roadway but couldn’t. Assisting at the scene was the Conesus Fire Department.
