The Sheriff’s Department is looking to hire a Senior Civilian Dispatcher. The application deadline: December 16, 2020 with a PAY RANGE: $22.21 – $27.52. LOCATION: Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, Geneseo, New York
DUTIES: The work involves responsibility for supervising the activities and performing the duties of a Civilian Dispatcher in the County Emergency Communication Center. Many of the functional duties are similar to those of a Civilian Dispatcher; however, the incumbent functions as the supervisor on an assigned shift. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Emergency Communications Director or higher ranking officer with leeway allowed for use of independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work. A Senior Civilian Dispatcher does related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must meet all requirements in the following table in order to be approved for examination and/or appointment: Qualification Option # 1 Training/Education q Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma. General experience q Three years of full-time, paid experience as a Civilian Dispatcher with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office. Supervisory experience q None required. License/ Certification q Applicant must possess New York State Basic Telecommunication, Emergency Medical Dispatch, and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Certifications. Other requirements q See Special Qualifications below. Part-time service will be given prorated credit toward experience requirements. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: 1.) Appropriate professional certifications must be maintained throughout employment. 2.) An appropriate driver’s license must be maintained throughout employment. 3.) Must authorize and execute any necessary releases to enable the appointing authority to verify licensure and driving history involving violations and/or crimes.
