LIVINGSTON COUNTY — Local school officials and deputies attended the 10th annual Safe School Initiative Seminar on March 15 to discuss issues pertaining to school safety initiatives in Livingston County.
More than 1400 school Administrators, anti-bullying experts, and law enforcement officials from throughout New York State and Canada attended the event held at the University at Buffalo’s North Campus. Livingston County Deputy Josh Monster, Assistant Principle at Livionia Central Schools John Gammon, and retired Livonia Central Superintendent David DeLoria were among those in attendance.
Livingston County Undersheriff Jim Szczesniak met with DeLoria and command personnel to discuss the information shared by Col. Grossman during his presentation.
Szczeniak stated, “We are proud of our work in the area of school safety in this County, but we can never stop striving to make our schools a safe place for our children.”
At the meeting DeLoria provided a framework for looking at past and present school safety initiatives and the integration of new information. “We will eventually want to not only optimize current systems, but look at trends that will shape the future,” stated Deloria.
