The 33rd annual Avon Corn Festival will be held Saturday, Aug. 10 on Genesee Street. Produced by Avon Rotary, the popular festival opens at 10 a.m. and concludes with a free concert by The Skycoasters from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. More than 100 arts and crafts vendors are featured along with continuous live entertainment, a variety of food vendors, a kid zone, corn-eating and cornhole contests and a beer garden offering New York craft beers and cider. Three performance stages spread throughout the festival will feature bands playing two-hour sets. Performers include Old Hat (60’s and 70’s pop rock), Haywire (classic rock), Tommy T and the Gliders (Americana), The Pearlz Band (bluegrass, country and folk), Country Rain (country and oldies), J Street (classic rock) and The Fakers (Americana and blues).
Proceeds from the festival are used by Avon Rotary to support many local, state, national and international service organizations and causes, including the Boy Scouts, Avon Food Pantry, Teresa House, literacy programs, Rotary International Youth Exchange students, and the Rotary Foundation.
The festival, which runs from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., has handicapped parking available, as well as regular shuttle service from the main parking area only minutes from the festival site at the Avon High School. Pets are not permitted.
